SaskFlax AGM

Saskatchewan Flax Development Commission (SaskFlax), established in 1996 represents nearly 5,000 registered producers in the province. Directed by a board of flax growers, the Commission operates via a mandatory but refundable levy on seed ($2.36 per tonne) and straw ($.50 per tonne). These dollars are leveraged whenever possible to execute programs ultimately geared to increase net returns to its producer members and advance Saskatchewan’s flax industry.

Board of Directors: Shane Stokke (Chair); Greg Sundquist (Vice Chair); Erwin Hanley; Jordon Hillier; Nancy Johns; and Dave Sefton provide direction while the Executive Director, Wayne Thompson manages the day to day affairs for the organization. Research, market facilitation and communication programs revolve around the Commission’s pillars including variety development, agronomy, human health and wellness; animal health and performance and complete plant utilization.
